  1. We’re happy to present something everyone has been waiting for – a combination ceramic/ceramic whetstone that will handle your finest sharpening needs.

The newly-developed CC4 whetstone consists of a super fine ceramic stone (white side) (0,1 micron) and a ceramic stone, made of synthetic sapphires (dark grey) (1 micron). You don’t need any lubrication for these stones but now and then you should consider cleaning them with water and liquid soap.

The leather sheath has been updated in 2019 to reverse the back to provide a rough finish to be used as a strop

  2.  - Leather pouch is included
  3. Dimensions: 32 x 100 mm
    Weight: 51 g
If your knife is dull, we advise you to start with a diamond stone. After restoring the edge to original shape, de-burr the edge lightly with the ceramic stone in order to get a razor-sharp edge. Use no oil or water.

Start by laying the blade flat on the stone, raise the blade spine approx. the thickness of the blade, and start moving the knife in circular motions.

The Ink Trick - colour the knife edge with a felt-tip pen. You can check your progress in sharpening the knife by observing where the colour is removed.

How to check the sharpness - to check the sharpness of your knife, pull the edge very lightly on your finger nail. If it cuts, the knife is certainly sharp enough for most tasks.

Purchased to pair with a DC4 in the same order from Tamarack. excellent for getting a razor edge on my Mora knife.

Great little stone. I think the claimed grit rating is rather optimistic, hence knocking one star off. That aside, the stone is excellent quality and will produce a razor sharp edge.

Nice handy decent stone to keep in a pocket or backpack for just in case. Comes with a good leather pouch.

I was originally a bit sceptical if this stone was too small, but it is an excellent sharpener, and puts a really good edge on my knives.

This is a small sharpening stone, perfect for taking with me while out im the forest. It is very smooth so if your knife edge has chips you will need to get one that is more coarse and use it first. The back of the case can also be used as a leather strop for the final polishing of the blade. It wont replace my bigger stones while at home but is oerfect when I am out and is small enough to fit comfortably in my pocket.
