Helsport Tent ConstructionHelsports tent range consists of three main shapes - tunnel, dome and lavvu. The different shapes all have their different advantages and disadvantages. That’s why it’s important to choose the right shape to the intended use. TUNNEL TENT: Helsport made the worlds first tunnel tent, and today this is still the most used shape in the tent range. The tunnel shape is used in everything from superlight tents developed for the adventure racer to extreme expedition tents. The tunnel tents big advantages are low weight and simple pitching, which suits users that change campsite DOME TENT: The dome tents are constructed with crossing poles. This leads to a longer pitching time, and additional weight. At the same time you get a sturdier construction which withstands more wind and snow. The dome tents in Helsports range consist of both freestanding and not freestanding tents. The freestanding domes can be used without pegs or guy lines. Therefore these tents are perfect for rocky and hard ground conditions. We recomend use of pegs and guy lines whenever possible. LAVVO: The big advantage of the lavvo shape is height and degree of comfort. With only one single pole, the walls gets steep and water run off easily. The height, combined with steep walls, leads to large areas that require sturdy guy points if the lavvu should withstand strong winds. |
