Exped Megamat Auto 2025

MegaMat Auto is specially designed for vehicles. Its shape with cut-outs on the sides makes it the perfect mat for sleeping in the car.

Like the other mats in the MegaMat product line, the MegaMat Auto features 10 cm of open-cell foam. This not only provides the best sleeping comfort, but also ideal insulation from below. The 3D construction ensures the biggest possible sleeping surface. The soft stretch polyester surface creates a cradling comfort.

The MegaMat Auto has two separate flat valves for quick inflation and deflation.

The MegaMat is designed to self-inflate. Using the included hand inflation pump, you can achieve your desired level of firmness. Through customer feedback and our own use, we have found the small included hand pump can be slow to inflate the mat, so we would recommend the Exped Mega Pump to make inflation and deflation an effortless job.

PRO TIP:
It may sound counterintuitive, but if you find that your camping mat is just a little too hard, use the inflate valve to purge excess air. By opening the valve and pressing gently on the one-way flapper, you can release controlled bursts of air to reach the exact firmness you want. If you open the extra-large deflate valve, you may find yourself losing more air than you anticipated and need to top off your mat again.

Inflation: For first time use allow the mat to partially self inflate by opening the inflation valve and inserting the toggle attached to the inflation valve cap. Leave mat for at least 1 hour, then inflate completely by using an EXPED pump and close inflation valve. Now leave the mat for 24 hours in a warm environment to allow the inner foam layer to recover to its full volume.

In normal use once in camp, unroll the mat, then open the inflation valve. To speed up inflation of the mat, insert the toggle attached to the valve cap into the inflation valve.

After being stored for a long time, use same procedure as for first time use.
