                           ORIGINS WEEK

This week long experience will give you an introduction to the world of Bushcraft and outdoor living skills. We cover the fundamentals of Bushcraft so you gain a deeper understanding, build confidence and self reliance in the outdoors.

On the course we will cover:

  • Safe use of cutting tools- Knife, saw and basic axe
  • Natural shelter construction
  • Tree and plant identification and uses
  • Wild foods
  • Fire lighting lays and safety
  • Fire by Friction
  • Cooking over open fires
  • Water collection and purification
  • Nature observation and movement
  • Wood carving and woodcraft projects
  • Natural Cordage
  • Stalking Wild Game

On this course as on the weekend course, students are asked to camp with the Tamarack team.  All food and cutting implements will be provided on the course.

Minimum age for attendance is 18 years old
