Visit Sweden

Sweden is an ideal environment as you can roam the land relatively freely, a right called allemansratten.

In Sweden, everyone has the right to be out in the countryside-- visitors from abroad as well as Swedish citizens. We call this "the right of public access". It is a benefit not found in a great many other countries. One may also look upon the right of public access as a great freedom. But our freedom in the countryside must not infringe upon the freedom of others.

The right of public access requires consideration, responsibility and good judgement. We must not damage the landscape or animal life, and we must show consideration for both landowners and for others who are out in the countryside.

Why not Visit ?

With all this in mind are delighted to introduce a British couple now permanently resident in an area just south of the arctic Circle.

They have a small family run business.  Part of the overall business is buying, renovating and selling, two or three properties a year in Swedish Lapland.  All properties are owned and sold by them.  They do not act as agents for other sellers.

They are members of the regions Chamber of Commerce and have built a full complement of contacts for all aspects of house buying, building, renovation and maintenance.

This is an area we personally visit as often as we can as it provides all the wilderness you can ask for whilst still within easy reach of civilization.

Getting to the Porsi area

In between 2 airports reaching the property from the UK is relatively easy.

You can reach the house via air through connecting flights at Stokholm Arlanda Airport. Many people visiting Sweden would take the opportunity of staying in Stockholm city for a few days. It is a very regal beautiful place and well worth a stop.

We would generally prefer to travel via Scandanavian Airlines (SAS), as have always found the service first class, using them now many times without a hitch .

They offer a connecting flight to Lulea Airport which is 124 km (77 miles) from the house. A Car would need to be hired here to drive to the house. This is a straight forward journey and on booking, full road directions would be sent through to you. In summer this is about an hour and a half drive and winter  just over 2 hours .

The alternative is a connecting flight to Gallivare with Nordic Airlines. This  is a 2 flight connection and will land a little later than the Lulea route. This airport is 113km from the house so a similar drive to the Lulea route.

Generally we use the Lulea route as we fly from Manchester and it can be done in only 2 flights and a total of 9 hours journey door to door.
