Introduction to Basket Making

Basket Making is a subtle art and skill that has many uses. Both Purposeful and aesthetically pleasing using skills that have been honed over generations.

 

On the Course We will cover:
  • Selection of Materials
  • Working the slath and footrac
  • The Upset and waleing 
  • The weave
  • English and French round
  • Working a border and handles

You will leave the course with a small round basket. 

The Course is conducted from a wooden cabin in a beautiful woodland setting in Lancashire. The course is non-residential, a list of local accommodation can be found on the website.

 

 


Course Duration - 2 Days

Day 1 8.30am to 4.30pm

Day 2 8.30am to 4.30pm

The course will only run if a minimum of 4 people book if not we would need to cancel the date and a full refund of any deposit would be made

15th to 16th September 2008

Hot and cold break time refreshments will be provided.

All tools and materials will be provided.

For this course you will need warm waterproof clothing, ideally this should be inexpensive work wear.
