                               The Arctic Trail

The Arctic Trail Course is run close to the Swedish/Finnish Border some 250KM north of the Arctic Circle. Temperatures can range from + 5 to minus 40 degrees celcius and this course aims to provide the tools to survive safely in this kind of environment.

Based initially from Swedish Kota accommodation the course will take you through the practicalities of Arctic clothing and equipment, moving comfortably in sub zero temperatures, constructing natural shelters and Trapping and Hunting for food. The course culminates in a 3 day trip into the wilderness. The itinerary can vary a little depending on weather but will include:

  • Correct Attire and movement in the cold
  • Cross country skiing
  • Safe use of cutting tools
  • Fire lighting, lays and safety
  • Natural Shelter building
  • Cooking over an open fire
  • Hunting, Trapping and Ice Fishing
  • Dealing with Game from Fish to reindeer
  • The Reindeer

All food will be provided while on the course.

Minimum age for attendance is 18 years old

£1300 per person

This price includes VAT, food accommodation and transfers to and from the airport, but excludes the cost of the flight. Tamarack will advise directly which flight you will need to be on in Sweden for collection from the airport
