Tamarack Rendezvous 2015 The third Tamarack Rendezvous will take place at Bowley International Scout Camp, Great Harwood. Everyone is welcome from young and old to come and camp and join in the activities.
30th July to 2nd August 2015
This years activities include:
- Safe Use and Maintenance of Cutting Tools - Equipment Lecture - Chainsaw Carving - Wild Game Preparation - Advanced Carving Workshops - Sniper 1 Observation Lane - Kids Crafts - Tomahawk Throwing - Catapult - Archery - Air Rifle Ranges.

Price for the weekend is: £35.00 - adults £25.00 - under 16 year olds (no charge for 3 year olds or under)
This covers all camping fees and includes all workshops/activities. Camping is allowed from 15:00 on the 30th July until the evening of 2nd August. |

Friday Itinerary 09:00 -10:00 Safe Use of Cutting Tools Mike Rushton will take you through safe handling and use of the knife, saw, axe and crook knife in this demonstration.
10:30-12:00 Wild Game Preparation Come and join Russell Fralick and Mike Rushton for this interesting lecture/demonstration on wild game preparation.
12:00-13:00 Lunch
13:00-14:00 Air Rifle Shooting Lets see if there are any crack shots down on the air rifle range. The hour is split into two half hour sessions with the instructor, with a maximum of 10 people per session. You will have to put your name forward when you arrive at the Rendezvous to ensure a place on the range.
14:00-15:00 Tomahawk Throwing Try your hand at tomahawk throwing with Mike Rushton from Tamarack, brilliant fun. The hour is split into two half hour sessions with the instructor, with a maximum of 15 people per session. You will have to put your name forward when you arrive at the Rendezvous to ensure a place on the range.
15:00-16:00 Archery Come and join Simon Moorhouse of Wood - Sage for this great sport. The hour is split into two half hour sessions with the instructor, with a maximum of 12 people per session. You will have to put your name forward when you arrive at the Rendezvous to ensure a place on the range.
16:00-17:00 Cutting Tools Maintenance & Sharpening Earlier today Mike demonstrated the safe use of cutting tools, now he will show you how to care, sharpen and maintain them.
19:00-20:00 Deer Lecture Take a seat around the fire and listen to this informative and fascinating talk on Deer. Russell Fralick is a professional deer stalker based in Cumbria and has studied these wonderful animals for many years.

Saturday Itinerary 09:00-10:30 Equipment Lecture An interesting and informative lecture/demonstration of how to pitch a tented camp. Mike Rushton will show you the current equipment and clothing he is using while pitching camp, along with loads of hints and tips to make that camping experience more enjoyable.

14:00-15:00 Kids Crafts Come and join the Wood-Sage gang on this really enjoyable crafty session, para cord bracelets, rope making and pottery, ideal for kids old and young.
15:00-16:00 Catapults Have a few shots with these impressive hunting weapons and pick up techniques with Simon from Wood - Sage. The hour is split into two half hour sessions with the instructor, with a maximum of 12 people per session. You will have to put your name forward when you arrive at the Rendezvous to ensure a place on the range.
16:00-17:30 Advanced Carving Workshop Brian Walsh will demonstrate some advanced carving techniques to create a beautiful face in wood.
18:30 - 20:00 Sniper 1 Observation Lane Mike Rushton will teach you how to observe and use your eyes more effectively while in the outdoors. Use of peripheral vision, looking into and through cover, picking up the obvious and finding detail, along with correct set up and use of binoculars. Please bring along your binoculars.
