Norrona Trollveggen Flex 3 Jacket

Norrona Trollveggen Flex3 Review
Things Norrona donít mention in their blurb.
Internal storm flap
Hood volume adjuster
Hem draw cord
I was a little sceptical about the internal handwarming pockets via the pit zips but it actually works well and if you have a jacket underneath you can access those pockets aswell.
Due to the nature of the cut of the jacket I would only recommend a microfleece underneath with a base layer, anything more would restrict movement slightly.
Although I did try the jacket on with a wool baselayer, microfleece and a Norrona Lyngen Primaloft jacket, I would say thatís the limit (size tested Medium)
The fleece layer is a nice and soft grid pattern, so it should be warm and it does feel nice next to the skin.
The pit zips are huge and easy to use with a rucksack on.
Norrona say this Jacket is wind resistant, I guess they havenít had it tested so canít officially call it windproof. I would say that it is extremely wind resistant to a degree that you may as well consider it a windproof layer.
My only gripe with the jacket is I am dubious about the durability of the stretch fabric.
I would also have liked the pockets to take OS maps but it is Norwegian design.
Iíd give this jacket 9/10 tested in snowy cold conditions with a strong wind.
A fantastic jacket that performs as good as it looks.
Geraint Ellis.
