Review of Norrona Dovre Gore-Tex jacket
The jacket is well made from Gore-Tex proshell, a more breathable form of Gore-Tex than some others. My other Gore-Tex is ex-German army and certainly a lot less breathable. Considering the material, it's quiet to move in; the outer fabric has a soft feel rather than scratchy shell-type fabric. The jacket is reinforced around the shoulders and lower arms with a tougher Gore-Tex material. The hood is well designed and fits closely with a good peak. All the seams are very neatly taped with micro tape. It has large waterproof pit zips which allow a lot of ventilation into the jacket. I've been out in very heavy rain in it and remained absolutely dry, so would say it's great at its job. The double cover over the main zip is really effective at keeping out rain and wind. The standard of finish and the thought that has gone into the jacket are excellent.
The only criticism I really have is that it's quite a light green colour. As it's designed for Alpine hunting it's probably a great shade for that environment but is a bit light for the UK , where a more drab, olive would tone in better with our landscapes.
