Welcome to the Tamarack Blog

The idea of this Blog is to give you lots of information on kit, camping, trips & journeys, nature & wild places, general outdoor comments, chatter, along with photos, any up and coming events and news.

We are looking forward to working on the Blog and developing it further with feedback and input from you guys. So any ideas that you may have are much appreciated. We are also interested in any kit reviews, especially items that have been purchased from us, along with any trips to far flung places or a walk in your local woods.

I thought I'd write a few lines about the Casstrom No 10 Swedish Forest Knife. I haven't put mine to heavy use out in the field as yet (something I intend to do on an extended trip to Canada next year), but I'm impressed with it's quality of construction, how it feels in the hand etc. I think it's a great knife at a very reasonable price, and I would certainly think it would a dependable knife to have with you on trips in the wild.
